The Medical Examiner's Office in Roanoke has determined a cause of death after a man was found dead inside his vehicle in the Roanoke River over the weekend.
They said Mark Andrew Crotts, 24, died of hypothermia.
Roanoke Police were called to the Roanoke River near Vic Thomas Park behind Black Dog Salvage around 8 a.m. Saturday for a report of a vehicle in the river.
A swift water rescue team helped in the operation after Crotts' SUV was found partially submerged in frozen water near the Roanoke River Greenway.
Crotts was the only person inside the vehicle, according to police.
