Cancer Patient Uses Make-A-Wish To Throw School-Wide Party

Nine-year-old Javier Amos in Watertown, South Dakota recently used his Make-A-Wish to throw a party for his school. He’s been battling leukemia and missed most of his previous school year due to chemotherapy treatments. Thankfully, he’s now in remission. 

Javier said he really missed his friends so when Make-a-Wish approached his family and said they could grant any wish Javier wanted – travel anywhere in the world, meet his favorite celebrity – he chose to share his wish with his entire school and have a pizza party. 

For two hours after school, the kids had a blast eating pizza, playing laser tag and jumping around bouncy houses.The Make-A-Wish South Dakota Program Services Director said the special request wasone of the most unique wishes they’ve granted.
