Police: 7 Arrested For Breaking Into, Stealing From Home Damaged By Fire

The Franklin County Sheriff's Office has arrested multiple individuals for breaking into a unoccupied home that was damaged from a recent fire.

On September 15 and September 17, 2018, the sheriff's office said they started an investigation on two break-ins at the same home on Lakemount Drive in Moneta.

After further investigation, they found Zachariah Markham, 25, of Glade Hill and Brittany Nichols, 32 of Rocky Mount as suspects. They have both been charged with breaking and entering and grand larceny.

In addition, the sheriff's officer said Markham was charged with destruction of property.

They are both being held in West Virginia Regional Jail without bond.

On October 30, 2018, deputies said they responded to the same Lakemount Drive home in reference to a suspicious person in the area.

They said deputies located the individual, as well as three other people. They also recovered stolen items related to a break-in.

Amanda Maggio, 29, of Roanoke, Christopher Palmero, 31, of Roanoke, Joseph Stewart, 30, of Roanoke and Brett Halsey 30, of Roanoke have been charged with burglary and larceny.
