Captured: Lynchburg PD Arrest 3 In Area Burglaries

The Lynchburg Police Department said officers have been investigating several reports of belongings being stolen from vehicles, two burglaries, and two stolen vehicles in the University of Lynchburg area as well as Memorial and Oakley Avenue.

As a result of the investigation, police said they were aware that the suspects were possible driving a stolen vehicle.

Detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division spotted the stolen vehicle on Thursday, February 14 and attempted to pull it over on Campbell Avenue with the help of patrol officers.

Police said the driver didn't pull over and led police and detectives on a pursuit on 460 into Campbell County.

They said officers eventually stopped the vehicle and were able to arrest several suspects.

They found multiple stolen items, including computers, camera, back packs, GPS, gaming systems, passports, car keys, etc.

Three suspects were arrested including Shawn M. Rose, 19, Shyheim M. Hamlett, 21, and Matthew L. Creasy, 19, all of Lynchburg.
