Appomattox: A child is hospitalized after being hit by a truck at Wendy's

A young boy was sent to the hospital last night after being hit by a pickup truck in a Wendy's parking lot in Appomattox.

Virginia State Police said they were called to the fast food restaurant on Route 460 around 8:45 p.m. on April 18, 2019.

According to police, the 7-year-old boy ran out in front of the truck as the driver was moving through the drive-thru line.

The child was transported to Lynchburg General Hospital and was treated for minor injuries to his leg.

Police said the driver of the truck will not face charges.
